But you are a chosen race (slaves of Christ - not white or black or brown)

A ROYAL PRIESTHOOD

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. - Peter (1 Peter 2:9)

God says this is who we are, those who have surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ; slaves of Christ. Do you agree with God? Do you then identify yourself as a royal priest? God says that's what we are. This page is designed to educate us and help us to walk in that truth. Paul, writing to the church in Ephesus tells them in chapter 4, verses 1 to 3, "I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." What does it mean to walk as a royal priest? Let's find out!

To introduce us to this idea, please listen to the following sermon. Tom Luitwieler was my very first pastor, as a slave of Christ. I've had many pastors since then, and some of them I no longer follow because I can't in good conscience. Over the years, Tom has been faithful, and so, to this day, I still go back and receive teaching from him. I recommend his archive of sermons to you. Below is the link to the sermon I want you to listen to. I encourage you to pray before you listen, while you listen, and after he is finished. This is just to start. Below, Lord willing, I will post his sermon in it's entirety in a responsive format so that we can dig even deeper and pray together as we move slowly together through it, digesting all the bits and pieces, acknowledging God in every way as we go.
