My wife and I are both disabled. I am 80% service-connected and retired/disabled US Army. I receive a monthly check for the rest of my life, praise THE LORD! Unfortunately, it's not enough for our family of 5, and so I have to work... if... I can find work. Often times, I can't, despite humbling myself to take menial tasks at severely discounted rates, travelling further than I'd like to, paying for all fuel and maintenance/breakdowns. It is not easy, and sometimes my wife and I go without or on much less, to ensure our children have enough, and by GOD'S grace, not once have they gone without. Full bellies always. Me and mama, not always.

We don't complain. We do ask our brothers and sisters to help, if they can. If they can't, we understand. Most of the time we can't help, either. Just pray for us. That's what we do when we can't help in a more tangible way. And even when we can, we pray then also, of course.

If ever we get "ahead," it doesn't last long, as we keep the poor close to us, and if a brother or sister asks, we do not turn them away. They are in so much greater need than us.
